CEO and Founder, WeAre8

Sue Fennessy is a serial tech entrepreneur who has spent the last 30 years creating disruptive businesses in the digital economy. Fueled by her obsession with the waste and injustice of our 550 Billion dollar global media ecosystem, she built WeAre8. She wanted to flip the system, cut out the tech middlemen who are profiting directly from people's data and redirect that money back to the people. Previously, people didn’t receive any compensation for their data, time and attention. Until now.

Sue was highlighted by Forbes in 2017 as a leading innovator. She is also former founder and CEO of the world's leading data aggregation business, Standard Media Index. Sue had a vision to build an ecosystem that economically rewarded people and made a positive impact at scale. The WeAre8 platform makes it simple for thousands of brands and millions of people to make a positive impact every day. In order to achieve this, Sue understood that brands needed to get better ROI if they were going to shift ad dollars, and people needed a tangible incentive for themselves before they could give back.

In 2017, Sue was joined in her mission by Jeri Finard, a CPG industry leader and passionate climate activist who served on the boards of public and private mission-driven social enterprise companies. Sue and Jeri joined forces to address the social injustice of the current media ecosystem by cutting out the tech middlemen and bringing thousands of brands and millions of consumers directly together for mutual profit and purpose.

WeAre8 has architected and built technology to use the tremendous power of brand advertising to pay people for their time and to help solve the world's biggest problems. Like poverty, climate, change, education and equality.
