As we head towards Earth Day on April 22, it marks one year since we officially launched WeAre8 and for me, is a moment to pause and reflect on what we have done and why.

For 33 years I have been completely obsessed with how we solve big problems in the world together and that’s what led me to start WeAre8. 

The social media landscape felt broken - anxiety-inducing, divisive and full of hate. It was dividing people and fueling the destruction of our beautiful planet. I wanted to build technology that empowers you to feel good, have a voice and feel loved. 

WeAre8 is designed to reconnect us with the world through content while making it fun and easy to make a positive impact in support of people, the planet and charity. It’s that simple.

You have more power to heal the planet than you imagine

Sharing the majority of the advertising money with you from watching an ad on WeAre8 is just the mechanism for everyone on the planet to realise that when we stand together, we are more valuable than we imagine. 

Our real super power comes from the feeling of being together in a social home that feels full of love and the collective change this money creates. Because little actions of positive intention become big when they are done together.
